Two days later Dela was on the island with her old friend Count Sydney.

"I know how you like mathematical mysteries and there sure is one here!" said the excited Count Sydney. "There are two paintings left over from the crusades. Everyday they are hung at opposite ends of the hotel. Every morning they are found in the tower. No one on staff is moving them and none of the guests have the key to the tower."

"We also have this note that appears out of nowhere. Each note refers to a part of the paintings and a scroll. We found hundreds of scrolls when we remodeled the place. They all have numbers on them but there are just too many of them to read."

"I hope you can figure this one out for me, Dela. A ghost in a painting is bad for the tourist business!"
